Jetson Electric Bike

With the ability to travel up to 15 miles on a single charge, the Jetson Electric Bike is a  lightweight foldable option that is great for the commuter who doesn’t have too far to go. The rechargeable lithium ion battery recharges in about three hours, so you’ll be ready for the ride home. With both an LED headlight and a brake light, you’ll be safe no matter what time of day you travel.

When folded down, the bike has a convenient handle to carry it with and it’s only about 34 pounds. Despite its low weight and compact size, this bike can support up to 250 pounds, although it may be less comfortable if you’re taller than 6’2”.

Ancheer Electric Bike

A little more powerful, the Ancheer brand is best on a flat plane, but goes a little faster and can take on a bit of a heavier person. While it can carry up to 265 pounds, it weighs a little over 38 pounds, but also has the foldable option with the carrying handle making it easy to take anywhere.

This option is very similar to the Jetson option, but it has a 350 watt motor, which is a bit more powerful. It also has the headlights and brake lights, so it will keep you safe in the early morning hours or at dusk.

Swagtron EB-6 Bandit

Size-wise, the Swagtron EB-6 Bandit is a perfect youth or shorter adult option, but it does hold up to 264 pounds. With 20 inch wheels and 4 inch tires, this fat tire bike is great for all terrains.

What it lacks in size, it makes up for in power and versatility. It’s an electric hybrid bicycle, so you can pedal manually or switch to the motor during your trip. It can travel up to 20 miles at up to 18 MPH and can also climb inclines up to 25 degrees on power alone.

The Swagtron can handle puddles and splashes in inclement weather, which is perfect whether you’re on the trail or headed home. With a four to five hour charge time, you’ll be ready for your next adventure in no time.

Ancheer Electric Mountain Bike

A larger option, the Ancheer Electric Mountain Bike is a full sized bike with 27.5 inch tires. You’ll be able to travel up to 20 mph and around 40 miles on a single charge, making it much more powerful than the compact options.

This bike will take about four to six hours to fully charge and it weighs around 53 pounds. Since the tires are large, it is most ideal for anyone between 5’4” and 6’4” tall, otherwise your feet may not rest on the ground.

A large LCD display allows you to easily see your statistics as you travel. The bike rides best on paved roads or dirt paths, but the brakes are powerful, even in rainy conditions, so you won’t have anything to worry about.

Liana Moore

Liana Moore is a third-culture kid with a hangover from those days that is a severe case of wanderlust. She is more comfortable driving the cliffs of Amalfi, Italy or the dirt roads of Costa Rica or attempting to decipher the street signs of Osaka, Japan than navigating the theme parks of Disney World. But she loves it all. She doesn't believe a vacation is complete without an adventure. Her husband and kids know well that "adventure" often is code for mishap or challenge and it usually results in a good story. They seek outdoor experiences whether in the mountains, on a beach or in the jungle of a tropical country. Her favorite vacation is... all the ones she hasn't yet taken, as well as those she plans on taking again. And, that list is so, so long. But she continues to extensively explore her home state of Colorado, spends lots of time wandering Texas, California, New Mexico, Costa Rica, Mexico, Norway and has even explored Kazakhstan.
