The autumn season is certainly a time to celebrate, with the beautiful-colored foliage, cooler temperatures, and apple cider hitting the grocery store shelves. That’s also when hayrides, pumpkin picking, corn mazes, and face painting are popular activities for families to do as well. The state of Colorado has a huge lineup of farms that do an incredible job of celebrating the fall season. These are some of the best Colorado pumpkin patches.    

Anderson Farms

Erie, Colorado

At Anderson Farms, you will find over 8 miles of family-friendly corn maze trails that are spread out over a colossal 25 acres! 

They also have pony and tractor rides, a “mini” pumpkin launch, paint a pumpkin junction, a paintball shooting gallery, and plenty of pumpkins for you to choose from that you can take home with you. 

Anderson Farms also provides private campfire ring rentals so that you and your party can roast hotdogs and marshmallows while sipping on some delicious hot apple cider.

Monument, Colorado

At the Colorado Pumpkin Patch in Monument, Colorado, they have a little of everything going on during their fall festival. Not only do they have a farm animals petting area, hayrides, pony rides, and a 5-acre hay maze, but the farm hosts a lot of other activities as well. 

Bring your kiddos out for their chance at human foosball, outdoor laser tag, zipping down an 80 ft straw slide (40 ft slide for smaller children), and face paintings. 

Also, for your convenience, they have hot food and concessions that run on Fridays and Saturdays, as well as Sundays from 11 to 2. The farm is located about 20 minutes north of Colorado Springs.  

Cottonwood Farm

Boulder, Colorado

If you happen to live or are visiting the Lafayette area, your family won’t want to miss out on a visit to the Cottonwood Farm.  The straw bale and corn mazes are amongst the most popular activities to do there, but they also have wagon rides, neat tractors to see, and a farm animal petting area. 

You can pick your own pumpkin out in their pumpkin patch, as well as purchase some delicious fall produce while you’re there. Admission is only 5 dollars, but children 5 and under, along with adults that are 65 and older, are always free!

Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield Farms

Littleton, Colorado

Are you in search of such a place that you and your family can celebrate the fall season this year? Then look no further than the Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield Farms that’s located in Littleton. 

Photo booths, hayrides, face paintings, and the mini-maze are all included with admission, and if you’re visiting at the right time, there’s live music and entertainment, along with craft and artisan booths for you to check out. 

For an additional cost, they have hamster balls, the stunt jump, and the corn maze that’s located next door. When you get hungry or thirsty, there are food vendors and food trucks, along with a beer vendor.   

Fritzler’s Corn Maze

Greeley , Colorado

The Fritzler’s Corn Maze has over 25 family-friendly attractions and activities, making them a popular visit for families during the fall. The farm always designs impressive, yet meaningful corn mazes that will certainly leave you impressed. 

Some of their activities include pedal go-karts, pumpkin cannons, a paintball gallery, and slide mountain. For guests that are in search of fright, they also host a Scream Acres that you won’t want to miss once the sun has gone down. Delicious food and drinks, as well as adult beverages, are also available.   

Maize in the City

Thornton, Colorado

Maize in the City has been going on ever since 2001, and always features an endless list of family-friendly activities that are fun for the whole family. 

The farm has a mini maze, a crazed corn maze field, a pumpkin patch, a petting zoo, bouncers, pony rides, face paintings, and so much more. 

Their barrel rides, corn kernel box, and playground are some other things that your younger children will enjoy. This fall festival opportunity is located just a few minutes north of Denver.  

Mile High Farms

Bennett, Colorado

Just to the east of Denver, is the Mile High Farms, which features 2 fun corn mazes that are spread out over 11 acres. 

Some of their other activities and events include tractor hayrides, a petting zoo, barrel cart rides, and of course, venturing out into their giant pumpkin patch. 

They also have food and snack vendors on their property for when you get hungry, as well as other entertainment.   

Miller Farms

Platteville, Colorado

For those of you with kids that need something fun and exciting to do this autumn season, be sure to pay a visit to Miller Farms during their annual fall harvest festival. 

Not only will your kids have a whole lot of fun, but they’ll be sure to learn something too! The farm hosts tractor hayrides, a hay pyramid, farm animals, and a giant “Croc-pit.” Be sure to pick out some fresh and locally grown produce during your visit.    

Rock Creek Farm

Broomfield, Colorado

Looking for the largest pumpkin patch in northern Colorado? Be sure to pay a visit to Boulder County, where the Rock Creek Farm is located. The farm has corn and hay bale mazes, farm animals, and more. And to top it all off, admission is free! They also have gourd decorating, and baked goods that you can buy.

Studts Pumpkin Patch

Grand Junction, Colorado

Studts Pumpkin Patch guarantees that they have the biggest and best corn maze in the entire Grand Valley region, so this is one you won’t want to miss. If going on a zipline sounds like a whole lot of fun to you, they have two of them. One for smaller children and one for all other ages. There are also corn cannons, hayrides, pedal carts, pig races, pumpkin jumps, and a petting zoo. 

Insider Tip: Be sure to check out Gateway Canyon Resort and Palisade Ranch while in the Grand Junction area. It is a really cool experience.
