Living here in Vail, Colorado, I’ve come to learn how to dress for cold and how to find warmth on snowy days. You will find a common theme throughout this list with items that warm the body, and the heart.

This winter in particular, has me planning how to get the family out into the fresh mountain air more than ever. Yes, we will be skiing. But I’ve also been thinking about how we can socialize outdoors as we know that is the safe place to be.

Read on for some ideas to surprise and delight the outdoors woman in your life.

Bonfire Solo Stove

As a snowy COVID-19 socially distanced winter approached, the Solo Stove may have been one of the things my kids most looked forward to. I mean, what could be better than roasting S’mores outdoors on a snowy deck with friends? Well kids aren’t the only ones in the family sure to like this line of products.

Mom doesn’t care for the smoke of a fire. But she does get cold. This highly efficient fire pit minimizes smoke, while maximizing heat. It is the perfect way to enjoy a fire and the stars above on a cold, snowy evening. Without going to bed with hair smelling like smoke.

The bonus is that these fire pits are very portable. We opted for the popular Bonfire as it is also a good size for our deck. But they offer smaller camping sizes. Accessories include a tripod to hang a pot, and pots to make dinner, or warm hot cocoa. There are also grills and grill accessories, that dad is sure to love. Solo Stoves also make our list of best gifts for camping lovers.

Stand Up Paddle Board (SUP)

In Grand Lake Village there are so many fun things to do. Taking the SUP out on the lake tops the list.

This summer our family discovered paddle boarding. My daughter had been out on a SUP several times. I hadn’t. But got a wild hair and asked for one for my birthday. That day we took it out to Sylvan Lake, just a few miles from my home. We were all hooked.

The SUP that I got was a Body Glove inflatable stand up paddle board with bad, paddle and pump. It is easy enough for me to handle all on my own. And, durable. This SUP has been out on several calm Colorado lakes, less calm Texas lakes, but also down rapids on the San Juan River in Utah. It has quite a few miles on it but is in great condition.

My daughter actually seems to think that this SUP is hers and I often get relegated to the duckie with my son. I am proud of how she took on rapids on the SUP and don’t mind one bit.

This really has to be one of the best gifts for the outdoors woman!

Insider Tip: If you have a dog who might like to be a SUP partner with you, be sure to get them a dog life jacket! One with a handle on the top is key for being able to pull your pup out of the water, if needed.

Clear Gazebos Winter Camping Tent

a winter gazebo is one of our top gifts for the outdoors woman

These Gazebos winter camping tents have become popular with restaurants this year, as a way to expand outdoor dining into the cold months. But I have to tell you that one of these in my backyard is on my wish list. And, it really could go anywhere. Taking a hut trip? Take this along and use it as a star viewing tent.

Or, just set it up on your back deck as a place for dining in the snow. Dinner outside, with the stars shining above and the snow falling around you, but within a heated enclosed space. What a winter wonderland experience!

This isn’t just one of the best gifts for the outdoors woman, but also the wanna be outdoors woman.

Electric Bike

This big ticket item may be the most fun gift idea on the list. For anyone who likes mountain biking, having the power to go further into nature is going to be a real treat. There are several lines out there but a QuietKat tops my wishlist.

QuietKat bikes are all electric mountain bikes that are environmentally friendly. They are powered by Lithium-ion batteries for a green, non-polluting, and silent operation that allows you to motor through any landscape without disturbing the natural environment. And, they are based in my hometown of Eagle, Colorado. There’s nothing better than supporting small, local business while buying a bucket list gift for a loved one!

Stylish Outdoor Wear from Krimson Klover

Sella Vest: This core warmer comes dressed down and with its own whimsey. You get to choose which side shows up depending on your mood and your outfit. One side is classic solid and the other side features original artwork created by a Colorado artist.

I recently discovered what may become my new favorite line of outdoor clothing, Krimson Klover. Any skier or outdoors woman are bound to love the fun, sporty and whimsical styles. And, the small locally-owned company has values in line with what we care about. Krimson Klover makes unique clothing for women who chose to live boldly through travel, sport, and adventure. The comany is female owned and operated with a commitment to environmental and social responsibility.

The Switchback is also on my Christmas list. Half sweater and half non-down puffy — filling the mid-layer hole in your closet with style. Perfect with your favorite pair of leggings and a cute skirt or wear as a layering piece on the slope or out and about on chilly days.

Clogs for Kicking Back

After a full day of flying down the ski slopes, removing the boots and kicking back feel so good. You’ve spent the day in water shoes on the river, set up camp, made dinner and now its time to kick back. Slipping into custom clogs is a fun way to end the day while expressing your own personality. Our friends over at Tessa Clogs, where the mountains of Colorado meet Swedish lifestyle, hand make clogs for every personality.

Tessa Clogs is a family-run business with heart and soul. Absolutely the kind of business we like to support!

Snow Boots

We live in Vail, Colorado where it can get cold especially during December and January. Warm snow boots are imperative!

My daughter has done her best to take over my Sorel winter boots. Any woman who spends time out in the cold knows that her best friends are warm boots and gloves. Our extremities get cold easily. Boots that keep our ties warm, have good traction, and are stylish are sure to be greatly appreciated.

Lights to Brighten a Camp Site

Lights to brighten up a camp site are sure to make anyone feel happy. Whether colorful Chinese lanterns or solar powered string lights, a festive atmosphere added to the camp site is sure to be appreciated. Plus it can give a bit of light on the way to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

Nespresso Machine

Well you may not think of a fancy coffee machine as an ideal gift for an the outdoors woman, but the compact size of the smaller machines makes these great for camping. I have brought my Nespresso Machine along when RVing, but also when tent camping. I just had to locate an electric plug which I found in a bathroom. There’s nothing like hot espresso ready in 30 seconds on a cold morning camping. Watch the steam coming off of your cup while it warms your hands. Again, those extremities are important to us women.

Camping Hammock

While a fancy camping chair with a side table for food and drink is my husband’s go to place to relax when camping, I have always wanted a hammock. If I am not out on the water paddle boarding or hiking a trail then I want to be relaxing with a book. A camping hammock strung up by a river seems like the perfect place to read while camping, if my children would let me. This is one that is on my list, that I have to imagine would be one of the more popular gifts for the outdoors woman.

Rechargeable Hand Warmers

When spending a lot of time outside on cold days, this woman in your life needs to have an excellent way to stay warm. The KARECEL Rechargeable Hand Warmers are a must-have. These hand warmers quickly heat up and come with adjustable heat settings.

Weatherproof Jacket

For the outdoors woman who spends a lot of time in the snow, but also likes fashion, Skea jackets (and hats) may be a hit. I have a silver one that keeps me warm and is fun. they are pricey. If you love in a ski resort shop the sales in the spring or late summer for a deal.

If she is spending a lot of time outdoors and functionality is her preference, she could always use a waterproof jacket, such as the Camel Crown Women’s 3-in-1 Waterproof Ski Jacket. It is made with breathable, lightweight material, and it is resistant to water from rain and snow. You can find it in various colors, including shades of black, blue, and pink.

Insulated Snow Pants

When the outdoorsy woman is spending time outside in freezing temperatures while surrounded by a lot of snow, it helps to have a reliable pair of insulated snow pants to wear to stay warm. The Articx Women’s Insulated Snow Pants are a great choice because they are comfortable and easy to fit over layers of clothes if needed.

Hiking Backpack

You cannot go wrong with selecting a convenient hiking backpack as a gift for the outdoorsy woman in your life. The Venture Pal Lightweight Hiking Backpack is an awesome choice because it is durable, lightweight, and comes equipped with multiple compartments for storage purposes.

If she goes for longer hikes, a Camelback may be a fun slpurge. These offer a bladder to carry your water instead of bringing along bottles. I have one that I still use that is older than my kids. So, they do last.

Beanie Hat With Light

The Etsfmoa Unisex LED Beanie Hat is a top choice for people who spend time outdoors at night. The beanie will keep her head warm while allowing her to easily see where she is going due to the bright light attached to it.

Rain Boots

The right rain boots will keep her feet warm and cozy while she walks through different types of terrain, even if there is both rainwater and snow on the ground. The Sperry Top-Sider Women’s Rain Boots are just one of several great rain boots to get.

Lightweight Blanket/Tarp

Give the gift of convenience with the BEARZ Outdoor Waterproof Blanket. If you give this a gift to that special woman in your life, she can use it as a beach blanket, picnic blanket, or even a protective tarp to use inside a tent. With multiple ways to use it, the waterproof blanket is an essential item for outdoorsy women.

Emergency Gear

Because it is impossible to predict what could happen outdoors, the EMDMAK Survival Gear Kit is another excellent gift idea. It comes with multi-function tools, a flashlight, compass, and more. These items could come in handy while she is on a hiking trail or in the middle of the wilderness.

With these great gift options, you should easily find the perfect items to buy for that outdoorsy woman who is special to you. Impress her with one or more of these gifts that are perfect for anyone who likes spending time outside in any kind of weather, whether it is raining, snowing, or sunny and warm.
