I come home with SWAG fairly regularly. My visit to the Glenwood Hot Springs last week ended up with my kids fighting over the gold sunglasses and super soft, extra cool pool towel. I finally intervened to tell them they had to trade off days. But for this last item that I received, my husband is trying to claim dibs. And, I don’t think he even has any idea how cool this item really is. He immediately saw that the Altec Lansing Baby Boom XL is compact and has great sound. But it is so much more than that!

The past five days have been spent testing out the Altec Lansing Baby Boom XL in a variety of ways. So far I’ve put it to use while stationary out on my front porch, hanging from my Camelbak while biking, floating down the river. The Altec Lansing Baby Boom XL even came along as I cheered my kids on at the Kids Adventure Games. This little bluetooth speaker has yet to need a charge. I have no doubt that it has a six hour battery life.
When I first powered on the Baby Boom XL, it was so loud I jumped out of my seat. It has sound alright.
The IP67 Everything Proof Rating and claim that it floats are accurate. The Baby Boom XL even beat the kids’ boats in a boat race down the river.
So what is the Altec Lansing Baby Boom XL best for?
- Camping: It is small, portable. No need to worry about a spill in the dirt or water and resulting damage. It is a tough little device.
- River Rafting: With the included carabineer clip and ability to float it is the ultimate speaker for a river float trip.
- A day hike or bike ride. This easily clips to a Camelbak and is loud enough to hear even with the wind blowing past your ears.
- Waterpark Going: Its portability and true waterproof ability makes it a perfect speaker while you watch the kids from your cabana or shaded lounge chairs.
