Eagle Ranch Golf Club is located in the beautiful small town of Eagle, Colorado, just 30 minutes from Vail. The majestic Colorado Rocky Mountains provide a spectacular setting for the Arnold Palmer Signature Design Course. The course opened in 2001 as part of a new, master-planned residential community called Eagle Ranch. Prior to the golf course and surrounding real estate development, the land was a working ranch. Several of the antique ranch implements are laid out around the course as a reminder of the property’s history. With the addition of the golf course and other fantastic amenities such as an outdoor pool, ice rink, recreation trails and fitness center, Eagle is an idyllic place to live and play.
Thanks to the efforts of Golf Course Superintendent Derek Rose, and others, the course is certified as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. We’ve been designated a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary since 2002 – one of 773 courses in the world with that designation.
The practice facility has plenty of room to work on all aspects of your game, including five target greens on the range, a chipping green and two putting greens. The Grille has a delicious lunch menu with indoor and outdoor seating to enjoy the views of the surrounding mountains. It’s also a wonderful setting to host a special event or tournament and groups of all sizes can be accommodated.
Nestled in the Gypsum Valley, Gypsum Creek Golf Course is a Pete Dye designed 18 hole Championship course for players of all caliber. Spread out over a steep, sage-covered mesa, this challenging course beguiles golfers with splendid natural scenery and a bit of deception. The signature sixth hole is a daunting par-5 that exceeds 550 yards from the back tees and is almost never reached in two shots thanks to the prevailing winds. From there on, steep drop offs and tough angles are the status quo for Gypsum creek Golf Course.

Leadville is a 45 minute drive from Vail.
Mount Massive Golf Course is a nine-hole public course on the outskirts of Leadville. Set in the open spaces of the Arkansas River Valley near the river's headwaters, ringed by the tallest mountains in the state, surrounded by ranchland and forest, it has a truly spectacular setting.
Golf has been played on the site since the 1930s, originally on sagebrush fairways and sand greens. In the early 1970s, a $50,000 grant provided the funds for a single-row automated irrigation system. The irrigation system allowed Mount Massive to establish turf and to begin thinking of itself as a real golf course. Mostly dependent on donations and modest membership revenues, a few caring folks nurtured and tended the course into the late 1980's.
As the tourism-driven regional economy boomed through the 1990's, Mount Massive saw a steady increase in daily-fee play and revenue. This led to hiring a full-time superintendent and staff, which led to improved maintenance and operations. The original irrigation system was replaced by a state of the art system in 2001, aiding in conservation efforts and further improving the already excellent turf conditions.
Today, this affordable and friendly course caters to over 20,000 rounds annually. It is conditioned and maintained to a level that rivals the nearby resort courses which carry $100+ per round price tags.
Red Sky is a private club and requires membership to play.
Red Sky Golf Course features two championship golf courses designed by Tom Fazio and Greg Norman. The courses are separated by a massive ridge, which serves as wildlife migration corridor for deer and elk. Great care was taken to preserve the natural landscape, including transplanting or re-vegetation of more than 25,000 native plants during the construction of the Tom Fazio golf course alone. Approximately 80 acres of sod was applied to each course, reducing the amount of fertilizer necessary for seed grow-in, which protected the nearby Eagle River from silt erosion, which common when seed is used. Both courses have breath-taking views and are registered as Audubon Cooperative Sanctuaries.
The 7,100-yard championship links style course of the Sonnenalp Golf Club is perfectly located in the sun drenched valley of Edwards, 13 miles west of Vail Village. This down valley location gives our members and guests an extended playing season stretching from early April to late October.

Highlighted by views of the Gore Mountain Range, Vail Golf Club’s mountain-style, 18-hole course features unique fairways, smooth putting surfaces and a scenic layout amidst the White River National Forest.
The tree-lined fairways contain numerous greenside and fairway bunkers, as well as beaver ponds, which will all test a golfer’s accuracy. Vail’s Golf Club features 6,766 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 71. A course rating of 71.2/132 from the back tees and 60.2/103 from the forward tees make it a truly spectacular experience for golfers of all skill levels. Recognized by Golf Digest as a "Top 100 Resort Course," golfers enjoy watching their balls fly 10 percent farther in Vail’s high altitude environment, while they challenge themselves on greens that follow the scenic Gore Creek.
